Earlier this week, our chair, Siwan Jobbins attended Media Cymru’s Culture Change Conference at the Atrium in Cardiff.
The conference focused on well-being and better, fairer and greener work practices within the screen sector.
One of the sessions was about the skills and training opportunities there are in Wales.
If you’re looking for training opportunities, these are the key players:
Screenskills, Sgil Cymru, BECTU | Cult Cymru, Creative Wales | Welsh Government, Ffilm Cymru, Screen Alliance Wales, TAC, NFTS Cymru Wales.
One very exciting scheme due to launch in the coming weeks is Media Cymru’s Freelancer development Fund which will cover loss of earnings up to £1,500 for those attending a course. Another is Welsh Government’s Flexible Skills Programme (FSP) which will contribute funding of 50% boards the cost of privately procured training courses.
Keep your eyes peeled for more information
We at Ymddiried can also help you with funding training opportunities, so don’t be shy. Chat with us and we’ll see if we can help post@ymddiried.cymru
